Eye Spy

9.11.2012

Labels: , ,

I would consider myself an eyewear enthusiast.  I refuse to get contacts because I love wearing my glasses so much.  I constantly find myself switching between my prescription glasses and a solid pair of shades every time I step outside.  I can only dream that one day I will be switching between these two.  The half frame and gold details of these Ray Ban sunnies makes me swoon and the timeless shape of wayfarers always draws me in.

Both of these pairs are from http://www.smartbuyglasses.com/, where you can buy them for 30 and 46% off RRP.  The shop is well worth checking out, they have over 150 designer brands at killer prices like these.  They even offer free shipping and free $20 lens kits, for those of you with poor vision like myself.

These glasses are the perfect accessories to wear with this amazing army shirt and sequin shorts from Topshop.  I kept the rest of the look simple with some classic high-tops and this lustworthy leather clutch from 3.1 Philip Lim.  High-street grunge meets “I partied all weekend and just picked these up off the floor.”

The Tavern

Today I am....very happy.  I am getting back into my yoga routine, shaking off negative energy, and really just feel amazing.  I truly feel like it was reflected in this shoot, it is probably my favorite so far.  I really love how these photos came out and I hope you do to.  This is a typical minimal look of mine.  I like simple.  The tee and shorts are two of my recent ebay finds.  After losing my gray Chuck Taylor's at Bonnaroo (tear), I found my old black ones in a trash bag of shoes my mom was going to give away.  I have had these shoes since the 9th grade and have no idea how they ended up in that bag.  But, they are back where they rightfully belong, and I sprung them back to life with some new mint and silver shoelaces.

For a college town, State College has its little romantic nooks and crannies.  Today we shot at the Tavern, which is a more upscale restaurant right across the street from campus.  The Tavern is a beautiful old building seated on a cute brick alley way.  I love seeking out these perfect little spots with my boyfriend, Billy, who handles the photography on my blog.  I am thinking about investing in a SLR camera and taking up a new hobby because he is unfortunately leaving in a few weeks.  He's going to kick off his film career in New York while I finish up my last year of school here.  He is teaching me how to use his gorgeous camera (I took the last picture of the flag and window!), and not only do I love taking pictures, but I love learning from him.  I can't believe I only have 4 days of work left and then the two of us are off to the beach with his family.
