Photographer Taylor James certainly knows how to capture everything that I am failing to get out of life. These grungy, teen-angst ridden photos makes me wish I was 19 again. Then I remember that I wouldn't be able to go to bars yet and that thought quickly subsides. What is it about these free-spirited teen idols that we are so drawn to? Check out the rest of the photography from these shoots at http://taylorjamesphoto.com/ while I continue pondering the meaning of life.

I sometimes get nostalgic about it but mostly I'm glad that I'm not a teenager anymore!

I like the grunge smells like teen spirit look (I was just old enough to covet the fashion of the late 90s but slightly too young to afford it like I wanted to and I've never gotten over it) but I don't think that the model being under 20 is necessary or even part of the appeal.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see someone do a shoot around the concept of that girl, but grown up a few years. Did she lose the uncomfortable angst but grow into a confident edge? Did she take off on the trips that she dreamed of when she was hanging out in parking lots, watching cars go by? How does grunge adapt to a filled out hourglass shape? There are so many over 21 or even over 30 badasses out there that I'm surprised it isn't done more.
