You may remember my interview with the Lithuanian label Freak Factory's head designer, the very talented Jeva Bartuseviciute, during the debut of the Fall/Winter collection "Rusty Heart". Freak Factory's Spring/Summer 2013 collection, "Love. Popeye" delivers once again and is just as impressive and inspiring.
Love. Popeye is dedicated to love, sailors, and pop culture. The nautical white and blue stripes in the collection symbolize the playful Popeye who is in love with the dark, erotic Venus, born out of the deepest depths of the ocean and donning the dark patterns, rough terrycloth, and heavy silicon. The collection creeps into the soul of femininity, and explores the truth that something so cheerful and sophisticated on the outside can be so emotional and dark within.
As Freak Factory continues to debut these incredible collections, I find myself being increasingly drawn to them, not only because the garments are beautiful and the prints are so unique and interesting, but because of the inspiration and depth behind them. The label has quickly become one of my favorites and I hope that all of you, my lovely readers, enjoy and appreciate it just as much as I do.
