My New Resort Shorts, II

I recently received a custom order for these minimalist, tailored resort shorts.  I love getting orders that compliment my own style so well.  The shorts hang so perfectly off the hip and can easily be dressed up or down.  I'm shipping them off to the Caribbean (jealous) where the warm weather will favor them all year round.

I just finished designing and creating these high-waisted "resort" shorts for a customer.  They are probably one of my favorite things I have ever made.  I love getting custom orders that push me, as far as trying new silhouettes, using new materials, and just allowing me to realize what I am capable of.  I'm thinking about adding some gold detailing to these dreamily draped babies and making them apart of my Spring collection, just in time for the fashion show I am doing.  

I'm still waiting on more information about the fashion show (all I know so far is that it is in Pittsburgh and on my 22nd birthday) but I have a head swimming with ideas and I can't wait to get it all down and share it with you, my lovely readers.

More DIY: Bleached Denim

Since I'm too lazy to put together an outfit for you (mainly I don't feel like teaching my sister how to use my new camera), here is a little sneak peek into what I was up to today.  My best friend Natalie and I soaked up the sun and went crazy bleaching and dying.  Nothing really turned out as well as these vintage Calvin Klein jeans did, which will soon be made into some fab new shorts.  I haven't tried them on yet, so they may or may not end up in the shop.

Down the Road

A few things getting me through finals.  

1 - Slowburn Fastburn Ikat Shorts (going up in the shop as soon as I get my darn sewing machine fixed)

2 - The CUTEST bracelet ever.  Totally just bought it.  From this etsy shop
3 - My favorite shirt of all time, and SO easy to DIY (just get a black t-shirt and some scissors)

I really need to stop always questioning myself and my taste.  I keep finding myself going through old posts, pieces, and even tweets and deleting or editing them so that my "image" as a brand is perfect.  I don't think I will ever be satisfied.  It's very time consuming and actually quite depressing.

About Time

About time I got some pieces up in my shop!  I feel like I've been working on these forever.  I wanted to wait until everything was finished, but couldn't bare to see my empty store :(.  P.S.  I love having a photographer as a boyfriend!  He's amazing.  These are some of my favorite shots from what is going to be the best spring/summer collection ever.  So pumped!

Day of the Dead Shorts

The worst part of making your own clothes?  Wanting to keep it all for yourself!  I just finished up these special edition SOTB shorts made from Day of the Dead fabric and lace!  I only had 1 yard of the fabric, so these guys are extra-special!  Depending on the response I get, who knows I could end up buying more.  They'll be in the shop after I'm done remodeling!
